The participation in the "Formula R" Championship is one of the stages in the program for the support of young drivers. Last year young and talented karting drivers Yuriy Bayborodov and Sergei Afanasiev the became the members of the team. And they proved to be the fastest pilots during the season.

Yuriy and Sergei took the leading positions in the pre-season tests and only once, during the 5-th race of the season, their rivals had the chance to come nearer to the first place.

As a result, Yuriy Bayborodov became a winner in the qualifying and final stages of the Russian Championship (in absolute and junior competitions), being far ahead of his rivals and gained the title of the Champion.

Sergei Afanasiev was less lucky, during the qualifying stage he took the second and third position in the absolute and junior competitions accordingly. Before the last stage of the final race, Sergei was the second and had the real chances to win , but the incorrect conduct of one of its rivals and the following collision with him, threw Afanasiev back, on the 5-th place in the absolute competition.
